Today we remember the Grammy Award winning album ‘Machito and his Salsa Big Band 1982’ by Afro-Cuban salsa jazz giant Machito (aka Frank Raul Grillo). Machito is credited to be one of the innovators fusing Jazz/Be-bop with Afro-Cuban rhythms into salsa.
The album won the 1983 Grammy in the category Best Latin Recording, and is now again available in stores on reissued vinyl.
